Day 654. June 29. California.

Hunter & I have arrived home!

After a month of being away & 2 weeks on the road,
I am really ready to get back to reality.
& I'm excited Hunter will be joining me for the next month!

Since this is the summer of fostering wild animals,
I couldn't leave out the newest member of the White family : Baby Crow.

When we found this little guy in a face off with their family cat,
Matt's mom had to save him from being Gato's lunch.
Nancy plans on raising it for the next couple days until it's strong enough to fly off & find it's family.
Who knew you could (temporarily) keep a crow as a pet??

OMG, all I can think of is the Alfred Hitcock movie "THE BIRDS".

The crows were the birds that pecked out everyone's eyes (I'm sure this one is not related though)!

I can do a bambi, but not a crow...

Go Nancy!

THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT OF TOO!
She jumped out of the car to save, what I thought was the cat from the terrible crow and all of a sudden she walks up to me holding the crow. My response was AHHHHHHHH it's gonna peck your eyes out.

Apparently they're really nice birds. (Ravens are the ones to be scared of...).

I still woudln't touch it, even though Nancy was hand feeding it -- literally, her finger was halfway down it's throat trying to feed it like it's Mom.
